Monique Cherrie Co-Chair

After nearly 20 years working with customers in  both B2C and B2B relationships, Monique decided to make a change and launch her own  business.  In 2019, Monique opened her newest adventure, a coworking space in Strathcona. "I think that coworking is an interesting business.  There are many spaces available in today's market, and we all have a little something different to offer.  Together as an industry we have an opportunity to help support entrepreneurs, the small business market, and the local community."

Jason Wong Treasurer

Jason’s been a lifelong resident of Metro Vancouver. He studied Communication at SFU and spent nearly a decade in the corporate world before realizing that entrepreneurship was his calling. That's when he did what most aspiring freelancers would do...he became a dad. The challenge of being a "parentrepreneur" motivated forced him to open the award-winning Beta Collective back in 2014, which remains Surrey's first and only coworking space. Beta’s mission is centered on community impact and has since helped dozens of critical non-profit organizations get established in the rapidly growing Surrey City Center. More recently, Jason has brought his passion for community impact to open YVR Prep, a 10,000sf commissary kitchen in Burnaby for small-scale food manufacturers to help improve local food access and security. Jason is also very active in his volunteer capacity. In addition to being a founding member of CoworkingBC, he also serves on the board of DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society, the BC Small Business Roundtable (under the Ministry of Jobs, Economic Recovery and Innovation), and the Burnaby Board of Trade. Apart from his professional life, Jason is an aspiring DJ hack who loves old school hip hop, enjoys watching football and basketball, and frequently supports local restaurants and all his YVR Prep kitchen clients because he’s a terrible cook.
